Bless You O’ Believers and Receivers,               April 22, 2012

Last Sunday morning during my Sunday Message I gently reproved many of you for NOT continuing in our scripture memorization program. I know for a fact that many of you started very well. I say this because on the Sunday mornings after we started the program I would see most of you recite the scripture with everyone else. Now, many of you, if not most of you have quit. Why? I know why! There is a problem with the human race called “laziness”! There is no “stick-to-a-tivity”. There is no “carry through”, no dedication. If you think of all the diets that people start and then somewhere along the way that are allowed to fall by the wayside, we definitely have to agree that we all have a problem with “being diligent” (Hebrews 11:6b). Our Heavenly Father definitely commands us to “hide” scriptures, i.e. the Word of God, in our hearts. We see this over and over through out the scriptures. A typical scripture like Joshua 1:8 confirms this: “This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.”

This command was not only to Joshua but it is for us too. Now, we all want to have our “way” made prosperous. We all want to have good success. But, these things will not happen the way God wants them to…for us…if we don’t do what He says we should do. Being a ‘disobedient’ child keeps us outside of the flow of God’s Favor-Fountain. As your Pastor I want every single one of you to be prospering in all of God’s favor. I want to see you successful in all the things of righteousness and all of what Jesus purchased for you at Calvary’s Cross and Resurrection. The Bible is very clear that when Jesus rose from the dead, He not only defeated all Principalities and Powers; death, hell, and the grave. He won for us the ability, through His Name, to likewise walk in victory. He made us ‘inheritors’ of all these things. But how can you know what your inheritance is if you don’t have the Word of God ‘hidden’ down inside you? Answer: you won’t! Learning the Word of God is an imperative for baby Christians. The mature Christians are always striving to ‘grow in grace and truth’. We, I myself and the others of your Church leadership, continue to daily strive in learning the things of God. Every Mother knows that her children need to eat a very balanced diet of fruits, vegetables (red, green, yellow), dairy, and meats in order for her children to be healthy. It is the same with the Child of God. Remember what Jesus said concerning His Words “But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.” (Matthew 4:4). Just as a person has to have physical nourishment, so does the Christian baby, child, adult, have to have spiritual food to live as a Christian. Please, please, I implore you, take advantage of the scripture memorization cards and memorize the scriptures. Then you will have God’s Words when the time comes in order to defeat the enemies that attack you. God bless you. We love you. I love you.
